Alex Jimerson is Haudenosaunee, belonging to the Wolf clan of the Seneca Nation. He was raised on the Allegany and Cattaraugus Territories. Alex holds a B.S in Public Health from Syracuse University. He lives in Brooklyn, NY and is currently attending graduate school at New York University Steinhardt Department of Food Studies. His academic focus is on Indigenous Peoples gift-economy and food-cultures, specifically hunting methods and perspectives. Alex is committed to engaging with historical and contemporary indigenous discourse surrounding identity, relationship to land, culture, and language. Professionally, Alex is a consultant in Construction Management, and Ice Cream churner at Ice & Vice in the Lower East Side. You can find him riding his fixed-gear bike throughout Brooklyn.
