  • Specializing in collecting, organizing, and digitizing all existing forms of spoken and written Seneca. Work directly with First language speakers to record speech when possible. Catalog new entries into Onödowa’ga:’ Gawënö’ to be utilized by language learners.

  • Document live speech in written digital form, secure variations in speech, and correct transcription process.

  • Utilizing audio-editing software and annotation software such as ELAN and phonetic software such as Praat.

Memrise Resource Developer @ Agwadeyësta’ Dogëh

March 2022 - January 2023

  • Language resource development from funding provided by the Esther Martinez Initiative in partnership with Agwadeyësta’ Dogëh & The Faithkeeper’s School.

  • Outline Seneca Language Study sets on the Memrise platform and provide necessary translations/verbage for learners.

  • Review text for a fluent-speaking elder. Revise & make corrections after their finalization.

  • Reformat text for an elder to easily read for a recording session

  • Record first language speaker speaking relevant audio for Memrise construction.

  • Edit all audio to input to Memrise platform.

  • Store and post final units on local external, cloud storage, and Memrise platform online.

Language Apprentice @ Deadiwënöhsnye’s Gëjohgwa’ | Seneca Nation of Indians

FEBRUARY 2019 - JANUARY 2023

  • The Deadiwënöhsnye’s (They Protect the Language) Gëjóhgwa’ (group of people) Immersion Program seeks to revitalize Onöndowa'ga:' (Seneca), and in turn Haudenosaunee, language and culture through creation of an adult immersion program that will produce effective Onöndowa'ga:' Gawë:nö’ (Seneca language) speakers. This program is dedicated to providing adult learners the opportunity to exponentially increase their Onöndowa'ga:' Gawë:nö’ verbal proficiency through various teaching methods and practical applications. This program is also committed to increasing the understanding and knowledge of traditional Onöndowa'ga:'/Haudenosaunee cultural teachings through Onöndowa'ga:' Gawë:nö’ instruction.
